SWJ, has successfully completed a challenging project for a very special but top secret client.
The project involved the design and construction of a new distribution and logistics hub for our client, who needed a modern and efficient facility to cope with the increasing demand for his services. The hub, located in a secret location in the UK, features a state-of-the-art warehouse, a runway for his sleigh, and a workshop for his loyal workers, the elves.
SWJ collaborated closely with the project architects, Holly and Ivy Design, who came up with a festive and functional concept that met the client’s requirements and expectations.
The structural design of the hub was a complex and demanding task, as it had to accommodate the high mechanical and electrical engineering requirements, as well as the storage and racking systems, and the dynamic loads for a landing sleigh, so SWJ used its expertise and experience to deliver a robust and elegant solution that maximised the use of space and materials, while minimising the environmental impact.
The integration of festive aesthetics into the architectural blueprint was a noteworthy aspect of this project. From intricately designed Candy Cane Columns to Trusses with festive embellishments, every detail was carefully considered. The collaborative spirit extended to the involvement of Santa’s industrious elves, who offered valuable insights throughout the design and construction phases.
The project faced some difficulties in the groundworks, as the site was affected by frost and snow. However, the contractors, Snowman Construction, worked tirelessly with the elves to overcome the challenges and finish the project ahead of the 24th of December deadline.
The client expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to SWJ and the other parties involved in the project, saying: “I am very impressed by the efficiency of the work done by SWJ and their partners.
